The national prescribing services limited (NPS) is advising their consumers regarding the various adverse reactions, which can obtain when they use the sleeping pills of stilnox.
The actual brand name for the stilnox medicine is zolpidem.
NPS is recommending people who are suffering with sleep disorders to follow non-medicine strategies in solving their problem like relaxation, regular exercise, avoiding some stimulants such as caffeine, tea, cola etc.
They said that this practice will not cause any side-effects, but the results will be seen slowly.
They also said that the consumption of stilnox doesn’t cause any problem to the health of the sleep disorders sufferers unless and until they consume large doses within short period of time. Little consumption is recommended, but should not be taken without physician’s suggestion.
NPS has also issued a chart of potential side effects of zolpidem. Each and every user of this medicine will not obtain same side effects. All side effects which will occur to the person with zolpidem will be dependent on the health of the person and the dose of consumption they take regularly.
Physicians prescribe this zolpidem medicine for people who are suffering with severe sleep disorders or insomnia. It is suggested for short term use only (2 weeks to 4 weeks). Therefore, you must not continue the usage of it for long period of time.
Recently, Australian regulatory agency has also issued a boxed warning for doctors and other prescribers to not prescribe this medicine for more than 2 to 4 weeks, because several potentially dangerous sleep related behaviors like sleep walking, sleep diving, etc will develop with excess usage of this drug.
Caution: Remember that this medicine must not be taken with alcohol.
