Excess And Insufficient Sleep: Both Are Bad For Health

A new study suggests that adults who regularly get excess or insufficient sleep may die sooner than those who get the standard eight hours of sleep each night.

Those who get insufficient sleep are more likely to die from heart attack or stroke than those who get normal eight hours of sleep.

Those who get excess sleep beyond eight hours are at a greater risk of dying from non-cardiovascular causes. According to the past research, chronic sleep deprivation can be hard on the cardiovascular system.

Sleep is a time for your body to recuperate. During the sleep there is a drop in blood pressure and heart rate that eased the daily strain on the heart.

Some studies confirmed that there is a link between sleep deprivation to blood sugar regulation and poorer appetite. This condition can affect body weight and the risk of type-2 diabetes. This in turn leads to the development of heart disease.

Finally the study suggested that the risks of early deaths will increase when your sleep timings changed from normal 7-8 hours.
