Restless leg syndrome (RLS) is a condition characterized by crawling, tingling and prickling sensation in the legs.
If you move legs, it brings relief to the legs but only temporarily. These symptoms can be mild to severe.

I’ve suffered from this for a couple of years now and at least for my body I’ve found a preventive cure that works. If I thoroughly stretch my hamstring muscles before bed, and can regularly sleep through the night without problems. While standing, I put one foot up on a table about hip height and lean into the leg until I feel tension but not pain. (I have to gradually push harder as the muscles stretch.) I do this for 2-3 minutes, and then do the other leg. If I forget to do this and wake up with the problem, doing my stretches right then stops the symptoms and lets me go back to sleep. For what it’s worth, I’ve found temporary relief by adjusting intake of potassium and vitamin E, but after a while my body seems to adjust and the symptoms return. This very firm stretching is the only thing that’s guaranteed to work for me every time.
